Think Simsbury Community TV is just meetings? Not true! We have much more - including arts, culture, music, car racing and local sports. For the first time in a long time that includes soccer. On April 23rd, the Simsbury Soccer Club U18 team hosted its first International Friendly when they played a team made up of juniors and senior from Johannesburg, South Africa at the high school. The game was called by volunteer sports coach Peter Wildman and Simsbury High School senior Kahlil Ellis known to many for his work on high school basketball games. The cameraman was long-time SCTV volunteer and SCTV Board VP Ken Picard. Check the schedule on Simsburytv.org to see when the game will air on Comcast Channel 95 or Frontier 99 or watch anytime online at: http://simsburytv.org/v/6JxUOLJJSko
Want more sports on the air. We need volunteers. If you're interested, email SCTV at simtv@yahoo.com

Have you ever watched SCTV’s Headlines program? It’s one of the best ways to get and disseminate information about what is going on in town- The current edition of Headlines has a record 8 local contributors who are promoting and reporting on events as varied as the Simsbury Library’s upcoming programs on Simsbury’s history of conservation on June 4 and June 11, an overview of summer events at the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center as well as a plea for volunteers – a great way to see the concerts for free, and all the details on the Simsbury Celebrates! contest to find Sparky the Firework. Headlines can be seen on Comcast Channel 5 and Frontier Channel 99 at 12 noon and 8 pm every day of the week or watch online at: http://simsburytv.org/v/pYmbUB3Wm7A
